About the Journal

Daras: Journal of Qur’an and Hadith Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Yayasan Datuk Ranggo Sakti, Jambi. The term Daras stands as an acronym for Datuk Ranggo Sakti. At the same time, daras originates from the Arabic word (دَرَسَ), which means to study, to learn, or to examine. This dual meaning reflects the journal’s vision: rooted in the local wisdom of Jambi while upholding the scholarly spirit of Qur’anic and Hadith studies.

The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, and critical studies focusing on: Sciences of the Qur’an and Hadith (history, methodology, theories, sanad–matan criticism), Exegesis and commentary (classical, modern, contemporary), Scholars’ thoughts and traditions of interpretation, Living Qur’an and Living Hadith in Muslim communities, Interdisciplinary approaches (socio-cultural, digital, and contemporary issues)

Daras is published twice a year (June and December) and welcomes contributions from researchers, academics, and practitioners worldwide who are engaged in the study of the Qur’an and Hadith.
