Focus and Scope
Tengganai: Journal of Qur'anic Studies and Social Culture focuses on the interdisciplinary study of the dialectics between the Qur'anic text and socio-cultural realities in contemporary society, viewed through the lens of local wisdom. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to: 1) Qur'anic studies in a social context, 2) Qur'anic hermeneutics and social critique, 3) Living Qur'an and local wisdom, 4) The intersections of the Qur'an with culture and gender studies, 5) Qur'anic sociology and anthropology, and 6) Qur'an and Contemporary Issues. All of these disciplines are acceptable as long as they are aligned with that focus. This journal is published periodically and invites contributions from scholars and researchers worldwide who are dedicated to exploring the Qur'an as a living text that actively dialogues with social and cultural contexts. Scholars from any country are encouraged to submit their work to this open-access platform, contributing to a critical and constructive dialogue that bridges classical Islamic texts with relevant social and cultural realities.
